It’s Been Over A Year.. But.. Gina Young Online Is Here

November 16, 2015 § Leave a comment

I can’t believe a whole year and a bit has passed already since my last post. I think it is very safe to say that my new years resolution for 2016 is to get back into blogging again!

Recently, i’ve been a busy-bee so I guess to some extent I do have reasons behind my lack of blogging. I’ve traveled, i’ve changed jobs, i’ve met some influential people along the way and most of all life has been extremely great to me, and for that i’m grateful.

Back to the purpose of this post, a fellow friend, and newly surfaced blogger, Gina Young has just started off her blog and I have to say it’s one of the main reasons i’m back on mine. If your a lover of REAL posts, from a REAL person, and her REAL life, then this is one blog you need to follow. You won’t come across those “I wear these clothes to get views on the blog” or “I write reviews because its the in thing” posts. Instead you get to delve into what her life is like not only as a media student but also someone who loves wide variety of things from fashion to travel to fitness to makeup or sneakers and so so much more. The other great thing is that the blog isn’t intimidating whatsoever, you read it as though its from your perspective and there’s nothing better than reading something that you can relate to!

Hello October!

October 5, 2014 § 1 Comment

October is here, and lord knows it doesn’t even feel like it in the slightest! It feels as though summer still ought to continue, which is strange for me to even think like that. I love the colder seasons and autumn / winter is my favourite transitional period, by far. With that said , I have recently found myself clearing out, or probably more so discovering a lot of pieces in my wardrobe that I haven’t worn, ever, despite the fact that they have been sitting there for a good few years. It was only fitting to get this particular dress out especially now that we are in Autumn. It’s another shock even to myself that I opted for such a colour palette as usually I very much stick to far more desaturated tones, and tend to layer ALOT. I guess change is always good, or atleast that’s what they say.

The aim of this post was to show more than anything that you are able to mix high street with high end so easily. Accessorising doesn’t have to over power your outfit, which is what most people mistakingly do. Don’t let the designer brands scream from your outfit. The key is to make them blend well, and look effortless. That and theres nothing more tacky than a designer logo standing out saying “Hi everyone, i’m here!!”.

Vous venez souvent en France?

October 1, 2014 § Leave a comment

Over the past 6 months I think it’s more than fair to say that I have been out of touch with my blog, with no active posts whatsoever. However, I’m back and have many posts finally lined up and ready to go. There will be a slight change on the blog, which i’m sure you will all be quick enough to discover once it has all been posted!

Firstly, let me explain the reason for being so inactive. I’ve been back and fourth to paris and various other cities, I have started a new job, and generally speaking i’m making the most of every opportunity, which i’m been blessed enough to see, each day! All of what I speak of briefly here will be followed up with a post shortly at some point during this week. For now, I shall leave with you some 35mm images that I took whilst in France, the place i’m torn between; its become somewhat of a routine, a second home.

The images were taken in a small town in the South of France, where my eyes were opened to a whole different way of living in comparison to Paris, to London and what i’m used to. Everyone in Toulouse is so relaxed, so calm, and wake up each morning looking forward to going to work and catching up with everybody over lunch, and a good glass of wine. Their way of living and general life-ethic was pretty inspiring. They live so care free, and quite literally take each day as it comes with there goals still in sight. I guess it’s very true, as the saying goes, you are as good as the company you keep!

A long-overdue blog post is finally here. Recently I find myself wearing ALOT of grey is all different kinds of shades and tones, and i guess this post represents that fairly well. Weather has also been off and on as of recent so i find myself trying to find the right balance between being warm yet not too warm, yet not too cold either. It’s been a tough task, thats for sure. Today I wore my favourite jacket and sandal, alongside my comfy pair of ripped jeans. Take a look below to see how I pieced it all together, and where everything is from. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Black & White Always Looks Modern

March 16, 2014 § 3 Comments

Good afternoon, all.

What a great weekend it has been. Sunshine has been out in full force and everyone is super happy and friendly where ever you go. The atmosphere is so great. Of course, where there’s atmosphere theres also great food, which is even more of a reason to have a great weekend. Today I wanted to look good, feel comfortable and not feel agitated by the warm weather. I opted for silk shorts and a semi-sheer long oversized shirt. The outfit in general was extremely breathable and made the whole day effortless. Again, I have Zara to thank for this. I will definitely be living out of these shorts in the summer – they’re so easy and quick for the days that you just want to get ready and get the day started. Not to mention perfect for holiday season. Today was also a makeup-free day for me in order to grab some colour on my skin. Naturally, a perfect pair of sunglasses are never too far either!

Always Bring Your Own Sunshine

March 13, 2014 § 1 Comment

It’s hitting 18 degrees, and nothing beats making the most of days like these. For me, I like to feel comfortable yet have the perfect outfit to carry through into the evening. In this case my ASOS dungarees are perfect to piece anything with . Today I opted for a light and breathable tie-dye top from Zadig and Voltaire along with my vintage mint green heels, which are super comfy with there small heel and rounded front. This is the perfect way to add a touch of colour if your used to your grey/black toned clothing palette, as I am after the winter we have had. To finish the look off I decided to put on some gold jewlery for a change, as I find myself more comfortable with silver usually. However, gold seems to be perfect for the sunshine especially with the perfect handbag which fits in all your essentials. So, heres how I mixed designer labels with high street in order to create the perfect day to evening outfit!

An Eternal Spring

March 6, 2014 § 4 Comments

Good evening darlings!

I am now, officially, dissertation free which means far more blogging. With this amazing weather we are currently getting its even more of a reason to blog more, so there really are no excuses on my part. Aside from burying myself in the corner of the room in order to complete my dissertation I have been lucky enough to explore many projects, which soon shall be revealed!

Today I wore one of my favourite pieces from zara which was this white skirt, which is just to die for. Its super comfy and looks great with pretty much anything which is great for a casual and cant be bothered morning. I pieces this together with designer Uma’s amazing fluffy and embellished pink bomber jacket which is ideal to jazz up any outfit. (Take a look at her website where you can view her previous collections. Keep an eye out as her new collection is soon to be live on Of course no look is complete without a comfy pair of shoes, and zara again does not disappoint! Whats in your spring wardrobe?
