Art Vs Fashion

October 21, 2013 § Leave a comment

Goodmorning, lovelies! I hope the new week is treating you all well. I know we have some horrid weather in the UK at the minute, but i’m sure we are all keeping positive despite it trying to bring us down. With that said, I thought i’d upload a colourful post. I recently went to an independent artists exhibition in Carnaby Street, which was set up in an open-space pop up store. The great thing I loved about these artists was the way in which they merged the artistic avenue between art and fashion. Not only that, but they also reiterated their creativeness within the layout of their store, and the way in which everything was placed out in terms of their work. What they projected overall oozed a well throughout exhibition with an element of fun, which had a clear signature of there work throughout, which is always important for an artist. Below are some images of what was showcased in their space.

Latest Collection: Other UK

October 14, 2013 § Leave a comment

I recently did a photoshoot for streetwear and lifestyle brand, Other UK.  The brand itself has become a huge success worn by various celebrities, and is supported greatly by many!

“We are the Rule Breakers & Thought Provokers, Outcasts & Innovators
We are The Original & the Unorthodox
We are The Box on the form for the answer that wasn’t anticipated
We are those that Refuse to stand in line & that don’t fit the mold
We Defy Stereotypes & Push Boundaries
We are the Unexpected
We are the Others

Be Original Be Other

The brand itself showcases some amazing, high quality everyday pieces and brings versatility each and every season to the table. They always manage to keep things on trend yet have their own spin on each garment making it unique, which is music to any buyers ears! Below are some images from the new collection:

Late Night Tea Cups & Lace

October 11, 2013 § 1 Comment

Today has been one of those days which i’ve spent in front of my laptop screen none stop. My university work load is beginning to take over my life again, which also means coffee isn’t far behind on days like these. Although i’ve posted something up on the blog already today, I figured another post wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The post is rather fitting in all fairness. Going back to my coffee consumption, I have a crazy thing for mugs and china in general, so when I saw this tea-cup in a cute little vintage store in essex, I just had to purchase it! Unfortunately the cup itself isn’t one which I can drink out of, as it is filled with candle wax. This however is what grabbed my attention: It’s probably the most cute coffee table candle I have ever seen. The fact that it comes with various saucers too, is just quite simply a bonus!

And of course, i end this post with still being in front of my laptop screen. I hope you are all having a lovely Friday evening, and have just as much of a great weekend ahead!

Flying Free

October 11, 2013 § 2 Comments

Below is Part Two of my OOTD post for when I went away on holiday. Although it was generally warm, it’s never a wise idea to leave your hotel without some form of outer-wear as you wait to get on a boat and explore what the sea has to offer. I didn’t want to feel too drained down in clothing so I opted for a lightweight shirt, which I could later easily wrap around my waist for convenience. The great thing about shirts is that they are wearable no matter what the season. Be it over a light T-shirt, under a chunky warm sweater or as I mentioned above, just ascetically appealing to the eye around your waist – either way, you will be effortlessly on trend, all year round!

What I’m Wearing
Jumpsuit: DKNY £92  // Shirt: New Look £15  // Sunglasses: Celine £280 // Beanie: New York Giants (Vintage) // Boots: River Island £70

The Beauty Products I Used
Again, the only product I had on my face was the Seaweed Mattifying Lotion: Bodyshop  £11. For my nails I wore Barry M – Cyan Blue £2:99

The weekend is near, I hope you enjoy your Friday!

Wind, Sea And Tea

October 8, 2013 § 6 Comments

A few months back I went away on a family vacation to unwind and re-fuel after completing my degree. It was much needed, and of course, like on every family vacation great memories are made and cherished. This particular day I shall never forget. My brother and I went to see the sea and boats that were perfectly aligned beside the rocks, houses and cliffs. I’m someone who loves the sea, and adrenaline rushes even more. Naturally, I found my self sitting on the edge of a cliff with the smell of sea and morning wind blow through my hair  –  I was in paradise.

I will be doing another small post with some images of another OOTD that I wore on my trip, tomorrow. Keep an eye out, and feel free to comment and share your opinions/views!

What I’m Wearing
Floral Dress: NEXT £35 // Tights: NEXT £8 // Cut Out Boots: River Island £70 // Bracelets: Barcelona

The Beauty Products I Used
When I’m on holiday I tend not to wear any makeup whatsoever, unless I’m off out in the evening. Seeing as this was early in the morning, I wore no makeup at all. Instead I opted for the Seaweed Mattifying Lotion: Bodyshop  £11 – I love this product for my times away on holiday as it’s lightweight, hydrating and all importantly it combats shine on the face whilst still holding SPF 15 within the product. I will however state, if you are an acne sufferer this can lead to even more breakouts, so use sparingly.

Don’t forget, part two shall be uploaded tomorrow, so check back!
